Any girl or woman likes jewelry - earrings, rings, bracelets, so this present as a holder for jewelry will always be in demand. Especially if it is in the form of a fragile mannequin in a chic dress. As already mentioned, this gift is relevant for women of any age; it can be used as a hanger for earrings, rings, chains, and will also perfectly decorate the interior of the room. To make this wonderful thing we use the following materials:
- Polymer clay (flesh color).
- Glue Moment (transparent).
- Holders of any shape.
- Ribbons, braid, beads, lace.
- Acrylic paints.
Sculpting process
The whole process begins, of course, with sculpting the mannequin’s body. Knead the clay in your hands after washing your hands. Sculpt the torso, neck, waist, hips. When sculpting, use a wooden stick to smooth out small wrinkles in the clay, moving it from side to side. Having sculpted two balls for the chest, attach them to the body, again using a stick. Make sure that the figure is level and the shoulders are at the same level. Use the back of your finger to smooth out any unnecessary wrinkles.Be careful not to leave fingerprints on the mannequin. Next, we carefully insert holders instead of arms, and instead of legs, we also screw a stick or a metal rod into the clay, as in my case. You can use different holders that you find, for example, I adapted curls from other unnecessary metal stands, you can make them from wire or find plastic parts that are suitable in this case. Again, they can be inserted either instead of arms or instead of a head into the mannequin’s neck, depending on what shape they are. Now let's work on the stand. Let's make a ball out of clay, put it on polyethylene so that the clay doesn't stick to the table and make a round stand. Don't forget to make a hole in the center of the stand with a metal rod, which will be inserted into it later. When the modeling is completed, we move on to the next stage - boiling the product in water.
Find a pan in which you can freely place the figurine with all the holders ready. There is no need to put the stand on the mannequin yet, just cook it next to the mannequin in one saucepan. When the water boils, count 10 minutes and turn off the oven. Drain the water, cool the product, since it is still fragile after cooking, protect it from falling. When everything has cooled down, insert the mannequin into the stand with an iron rod and begin decorating your figure with different elements.
Mannequin design
To begin, paint all the jewelry holders and stand the same color, for example, white or gold, depending on what color you want the dress to be. The variations here can be very different. The stand can be decorated with a fabric flower or a piece of lace.
Now that all the minor work is finished, it's time to work on the dress. Using satin ribbons of different widths and glue, we form a dress.It is not necessary to use thread and a needle, the main thing is to correctly guess the width of the ribbons. Place a thinner ribbon around the waist, a wider one on the skirt, decorate the joints with thin lace, as well as the edges of the skirt. For such crafts, fabrics that do not fray and hold their shape well, such as tulle, are very suitable. With its help you can make two- or three-layer airy skirts. Even one layer of tulle on top of a satin ribbon looks impressive. If appropriate, decorate the skirt with beads and mini bows. Bows are usually made from the thinnest ribbons. At the end, cover the chest line - neckline with thin lace. Glue all parts of clothing with glue. This is what can come out of this whole process.
