Starlings and other birds are one of the main pests for the garden, as they raid berry bushes and fruit trees. They peck at the crop, making it inedible. The only way to combat this is to scare the birds away. For this purpose, they traditionally dress up a scarecrow, but starlings have not been afraid of anything like that for a long time. For them, you need something more non-standard, for example, homemade repellers made from CDs.

Repelling birds from berries and fruits
CD discs should be hung along the perimeter of the plantation with strawberries, berry bushes or on the branches of fruit trees. Moreover, on the back side, the likeness of an eye is drawn on them with a marker. It is believed that such images scare birds. The discs are tied with a thread 30-100 cm long and hung on branches or, if it is necessary to protect the strawberries, they are tied to sticks inserted into the ground.
Due to the shiny side, the discs create glare when fluttering in the wind. A painted eye is also an unfavorable sight for birds.As a result, they try to stay away from the hanging disks and find food elsewhere.
