It is extremely difficult to remove brown deposits and indelible dirt on the handles of cutlery. Regular detergent is useless in this regard. You can restore the cleanliness and shine of forks and spoons by boiling them in a solution of soda and salt.
What you will need:
- water 1 l;
- baking soda – 2 tbsp. l.;
- salt – 2 tbsp. l.
Cutlery restoration process
Dirty utensils are placed in a pan with a wide bottom. 1 liter of water is poured on top, and 2 tablespoons of soda and salt are added. Instead of salt, you can use citric acid.
The pan is set on the fire, and the appliances are cooked for 20-25 minutes. You don't have to bring it to a boil. Then the fire turns off. After the water has cooled, wipe the spoons and forks.
This is a very effective and extremely simple method, but it is not suitable for devices with aluminum or enamel surfaces. These spoons and forks can be cleaned with tooth powder or toothpaste. These are soft abrasives, so they will not leave scratches.
If there is limescale on the appliances, you can soak them overnight in any soda.
It contains citric acid, which will corrode the deposits. It’s even easier to wash it off with regular table vinegar.
