Very often, cracks appear on the facades of new buildings. Months after sealing, they open again, as the foundation continues to shrink for another 3-5 years after construction is completed. In this regard, it makes sense to repair the wall only when the foundation has finally settled. We will consider further how to determine this and how to carefully close the crack forever.

- gypsum;
- tile adhesive for exterior use;
- deep penetration primer;
- grinder with diamond blade;
- sealant gun with syringe;
- putty knife;
- spray;
- ladder.
Crack repair process
Cracks should be repaired when the foundation is completely settled. This can be determined by the installed beacons. To do this, you need to stick a plaster patch on the crack. It is optimal to make it the correct shape, so it will look like decor, not a blot.
Over time, if the foundation continues to shrink, it will crack. If the patch remains intact after a year, then all movements are over. In this case, the repaired crack will no longer expand.
The first step is to spray the crack with water from a garden spray bottle.
While it is wet, it must be cut to be able to pour the fastening solution inside as deeply as possible. The cutting is done to a wedge using a grinder with a diamond blade. You need to cut the crack on both sides, placing the disc at an angle of 15 degrees. The work is moderately dusty, since the wall is wet. It is imperative to wear safety glasses.
After expansion, the seam must be washed together with the stained facade to remove dust from a spray bottle. After a couple of hours, a deep penetration primer is also applied from a sprayer.
When it dries, the required amount of tile adhesive is mixed. It is poured into a sealant gun with a syringe. If you only have a regular gun, you can knock out the bottom of a used sealant bottle and fill it with glue. Thanks to the spout, the solution penetrates deep into the crack and will not protrude from above onto the facade, as would be the case when sealing with a spatula.
After filling the crack, you need to scrape off the bulging glue with a knife or spatula.
The result is a very neatly sealed seam. After the glue has dried, if it is not a brick wall, but a plastered one, it needs to be painted over, choosing the tone of the paint. If you paint it correctly, the repair site will be invisible.
