To prevent the nail from splitting thin lumber, it must be twisted. To do this, it is clamped in a screwdriver, and the part is drilled through it in place like a drill.
Then the cartridge is untwisted, and the nail is driven to the end with a hammer. With this installation method, the platband will not crack, and the nail will go in smoothly without creasing.
