After using soda, vinegar, ammonia, hydrogen peroxide, bleach and even rust removers, the old stains in the toilet could not be removed.

Toilet Rust Removal Process

I accidentally came across a life hack that said that you can clean rust with pumice. But since there was no pumice at home, I thought that sandpaper could replace it.

Without delay, I climbed onto the mezzanine, where things for repair are stored. I found a large sheet of sandpaper there.

With such a large sheet it was inconvenient to clean the inside of the toilet. I decided to cut it into small squares. And, at the same time, while cutting the sandpaper, I sharpened the scissors.

Pros:
  • 1. Perfectly cleans even old rust stains.
  • 2. An environmentally friendly way, especially for allergy sufferers.
  • 3. There is no need to buy anything; sandpaper or pumice is available in every home.
  • 4. No scratches.
Flaws:
  • 1.You will have to work for about 20 minutes, your hands will get tired.
  • 2. Sandpaper wears out quickly, so you will need from 5 to 7 pieces of these pieces.

If you count how much I previously spent on removing rust thanks to life hacks that simply don’t work, then my method is the most effective. And, most importantly, it’s free and without the terrible smell of chemicals.

Scratches on the smooth surface of earthenware are guaranteed. You can throw out the toilet. This place will be constantly dirty. Only liquid detergents are suitable for earthenware, enamel on gas stoves, etc.

We also scraped it with a grinder. And the incidental sharpening of the scissors when cutting sandpaper amused me.
