The cost of gasoline is constantly rising, so it is not surprising that there are more and more electric vehicles on the roads. The only problem is that its cost is higher than equipment using an internal combustion engine. For this reason, it is more profitable to convert regular motorcycles and modems into electric ones than to buy electric vehicles in the first place. Such an upgrade is possible in many ways, even by installing a 220 V motor from a circular saw.

Materials:

  • Circular saw 1200 W;
  • inverter 12V/220V 1500W;
  • 12V car battery;
  • driving sprocket;
  • steel plate 6-10 mm;
  • bolts, nuts M6.

Bike conversion process

A hand-held circular saw will be used to drive the electric bike. To do this, the drive sprocket is clamped on its spindle.

No modifications to the saw are required. To power it from a 12 V battery, a conventional kW inverter will be used.

Powerful wires are laid between it and the batteries. The circular itself is plugged into the inverter socket.

The motorcycle's cylinder is removed.

Then you need to saw off its connecting rod as low as possible.

Only the chain should remain.

Make an adapter plate from a thick steel plate.

It must be attached to the engine through the standard holes for installing the cylinder.

Holes are made on it to screw the sole of the circular. The latter is translucent and installed on the stove.

A chain is put on the circular sprocket. Its tension is carried out by the sawing depth adjustment mechanism. Simply increase the angle of the sole and the chain will tighten.

Now we attach the inverter and battery to the bike. You need to put a button on the steering wheel to turn on the saw. That is, we first turn on the inverter, and then the circular generator itself. A power regulator is also added to the steering wheel to adjust the speed of the electric motor.

This simple conversion saves the motorcycle's transmission. There will be no significant differences in driving comfort from a conventional engine. On the contrary, the motorcycle will become quieter and vibrate less. In the future, it will be possible to easily remove the electrical equipment and reinstall the cylinder by replacing the sawn connecting rod. This bike is charged using regular battery charging. We ride during the day, and at night we connect the battery to the rectifier.
