In order not to constantly feed chickens and other poultry, you can install an automatic feeder. In it, grain or mixed feed will be added on its own as it is eaten. We offer a design for an automatic feeder made from plastic bottles, which also has an automatic watering function.

The process of manufacturing an automatic feeder with an automatic drinker
First you need to make troughs for food and water. To do this, cut off necks from plastic bottles are used.
Strips of rubber from a car inner tube are glued to the rim. It will protect birds from injury from a sharp edge.
Wedges for fastening troughs are made from timber. They need to be screwed onto the board at such a pitch as to obtain a sufficient distance between the feeders so that neighboring birds will not interfere with each other.
Clamps are screwed to the wedges.
The troughs are fastened into clamps. Everything needs to be marked and made so that they are attached rigidly and their cut is in the horizon.
Then large clamps are attached to another board with the same step.
The board with troughs is screwed onto the wall. The height of their location is such that the birds can reach the contents.
A board with large clamps is screwed on top. The height of its location should be such that the bottles placed in them fall upside down into the troughs, but do not reach their bottom.
Then we fill the bottles with food and water.
Then we close them with lids. The bottles are placed above the troughs, after which the caps are unscrewed.
Now, as you eat, the food will be added and water will be added. When the bottles become empty, they are removed and refilled.
