You should start working by printing out a picture, which will become a model for the future craft.The drawing must be clear and life-size.
The resulting image must be glued using temporary glue or regular flour paste onto a prepared wooden base of the appropriate size and allowed to dry for an hour. In this case, a dry pine board 20mm thick is used for work.
Then we move directly to the cutting process. To do this, install a Silver Reverse file No. 5 into the clamps of the machine. You should start working from the edge located as close as possible to the pasted pattern.
We move the workpiece evenly, without much pressure, along the horizontal surface to the file along the line of the drawing, exactly repeating the outline of the image. On sharp bends and sharp corners, the saw should make frequent short movements, and the workpiece should move more slowly to properly adjust the direction of the cut.
When the product is cut along the contour, you can proceed to making internal cuts, strictly adhering to the intended line. Thus, we will get not just a figurine, but a clever puzzle that will be interesting to assemble for both children and adults.
Step by step we split our toy into separate parts, trying to cut carefully and accurately.
At the end of the work on the machine, you should end up with 14 intricate parts that are fairly vaguely reminiscent of the original model.
The next stage of work is removing the glued paper from the wooden parts. This is easy to do with a brush dipped in water. The paper gets wet and can be easily removed from the wooden surface.
Now the parts should be dried a little and proceed to sanding using sandpaper No. 320. The processing is carried out along the grain of the wood until the surface of each part becomes smooth.We carefully process the cuts, since these are the most difficult areas that require special care and patience.
Sanded parts are coated with water-based acrylic furniture varnish, which dries quickly, preserves the natural color of the wood and does not turn yellow over time. This type of coating is environmentally friendly, which is especially important since our craft, in addition to its decorative function, plays the role of a children's toy.
After the varnish has dried, you can begin assembling the craft.
This figurine will be a good gift for both adults and children.
