If you like to enjoy such harmful and high-calorie fries from time to time, then you will definitely appreciate the dish called potato pie. This is the thinnest straw, deep fried. The snack does not lose its crispy properties even the next day. Be sure to try it, you’ve definitely never eaten such delicious potatoes before.

Ingredients:

  • potatoes 500 g.
  • salt a pinch
  • refined vegetable oil 300 ml.

Cooking procedure

Prepare everything you need. Potatoes should be large and smooth.

Peel and grate on a Korean carrot grater, placing the tuber parallel to the blades. This way the straws will be the same size. If you don’t have a Korean grater, you can use a regular beetroot grater or try very hard to cut it with a knife into the thinnest long strips possible.

Transfer to a large bowl.

Pour in water, which will immediately become cloudy due to the abundance of potato starch. Continue rinsing, draining the liquid and refilling it again and again until it becomes completely clear.

This means that all the starch has been washed out and you can proceed to the next stage.Place the straw in a sieve, then place on a cloth or paper towel and dry well.

Heat refined vegetable oil in a saucepan or deep fryer. To check if it has warmed up well, you should drop in a few pieces of potatoes. If a hiss appears, you can start frying. Place about a handful of washed potatoes. It's better to cook in small batches, it's faster.

The bubbles will immediately bubble very intensely, and it may seem like everything has stuck together into one lump. But over time, the hissing will decrease and disappear completely, then you should carefully separate the potato straws with a fork. Seconds are already counting here; if you hesitate, the dish will quickly burn.

Therefore, immediately remove it using a slotted spoon. Then you can lay the next batch.

Place on a plate and add salt. Serve potato pie as a snack or use in salads.
