For work you will need: yellow fleece, scraps of felt in brown and green, a needle, yellow, red, brown and green threads for sewing, sharp scissors, a bright yellow ribbon with a flower, large red beads, a metal decoration in the shape of a bird in a checkered pattern.
Operating procedure.
1. First you need to cut out a cover for the book. To do this, spread yellow fleece on the table and place an open book on top. Add half a centimeter to the top and bottom, and six centimeters to the right and left.
2. Fold the exposed edges of the fleece so that they wrap around the sides of the book cover.
3. Sew the folded edges with yellow thread using a buttonhole stitch. This will be the base of the cover.
4. Now you need to decorate the cover - make a beautiful applique.Cut out a tree trunk from brown felt, and a tree crown and thick grass from green felt. Place the cut out pieces on the front of the cover.
5. Carefully sew the trunk with brown threads using a basting stitch.
6. Using green thread, sew the tree crown and grass at the bottom of the cover using a basting stitch.
7. Sew red beads tightly with red threads. They will resemble ripe apples.
8. Using green threads, sew a metal decoration in the form of a bird in a checkered pattern at the bottom of the tree crown. The front cover is ready.
9. Now you need to make a bookmark for the book. To do this, take a bright yellow ribbon of such length that it protrudes beyond the edges of the page. From green felt, cut out two identical pieces in the shape of a leaf.
10. Carefully sew the leaves together using a buttonhole stitch using green thread. Sew a ribbon at the top of the leaves. Embroider veins on the leaf with green thread.
11. Tuck the upper end of the ribbon and sew it to the inside of the cover.
12. Try the cover on the book. If the bookmark is too long, you can hem it.
