Knitted toys are gaining popularity among both children and adults. Toys made from yarn are not only beautiful, but also very soft. Such toys are light and pleasant to hold in your hands. If you look at the assortment of toy stores, you will notice that there are not very many squirrels, or there may not be any at all. They mainly sell toys such as dogs, bears, and bunnies. You can crochet a squirrel without much difficulty.
To do this you will need the following materials:

Orange yarn.
White yarn.
Gray yarn.
Pink yarn.
Black yarn.
Hook.
White wool.
Eyes.
Glue gun.
Sintepon.
Needle.

We start knitting from the head. At the same time, we will knit the head and body of the squirrel together. We put loops on the hook and round them into a ring. We begin to tie the ring in a circle using a hook. After 11 knitted rows, we begin to narrow the rows to create the shape of the head. When the head is ready, we smoothly move on to knitting the body. To do this, we begin to expand the product, that is, we begin to add loops. We knit the rows in this way and add loops so that the result is an oblong body for the squirrel.The body is wider at the bottom than at the top. We fill the finished body with padding polyester and sew it up.

Squirrel ears are triangular in shape. You need to knit the ears from the bottom and gradually decrease the loops, giving the product the shape of a triangle. We do not cut the thread completely at the top. We glue white cotton wool onto the ears.

For the lower legs you need to crochet 4 parts. Two of them are oblong, and the other two are round. We also fill the paws with padding polyester.
The upper legs are also knitted in an oblong shape, but twice as long as the lower ones. The length of the paw is about 8 cm. We fill the paws with padding polyester.

The tail for the squirrel is knitted similarly to the body, but it is smaller in size, that is, half as many stitches are cast on. To make the tail stand out, we will knit it from pink yarn. We start knitting the tail from the tip, which we make pink, and the rest of the tail we knit with pink yarn. We also fill the tail with padding polyester and sew it up.

We begin to collect the squirrel. Glue the tail, paws, and ears to the body as shown in the photo.

We make the squirrel’s nose and mouth from black yarn and glue them on using a glue gun. Glue on the eyes.

Now you need to knit a mushroom for the squirrel. It is knitted from the bottom, that is, first we make a circle and gradually decrease the stitches to form a mushroom stem. Then we thread gray yarn and knit a hat for the mushroom. If it is inconvenient to knit a whole mushroom, then the stem and cap can be knitted separately and then glued together. We fill the mushroom with padding polyester on top and then crochet it to the end.
