A simple stand for an angle grinder

A very simple stand for an angle grinder can be made from just a few pieces of a rectangular profile in a couple of tens of minutes. And in the end you will get an excellent cutting machine with which you can cut metal workpieces smoothly and quickly.

Needed for cutting machine

  • Rectangular profile.
  • Steel rectangular plate for the base.
  • Spring.
  • Bolt with nut.
  • Rectangular chipboard board.

We cut blanks from the angle grinder profile: two small equal sections and one long one for the handle.

We take two pieces of profile.

We install them on a rectangular plate. The distance between them is slightly greater than the thickness of the profile width.

We weld it to a steel plate.

To make the stand have more weight and be stable, we install it all on a rectangle made of chipboard. Of course, instead of all this, you could immediately take a thick steel plate.

We screw the steel base to the wooden one in several places, having previously made holes in the steel plate.

To attach the handle, you need to drill a through hole in all three sections. See photo:

Drill a hole for the bolt.

Insert the bolt and secure with a nut.

So that the angle grinder itself can rise up to its original position, you need to introduce a return spring into the system. A similar one can be found in the brake system of a car.

Drill two holes and hang the spring. If the lifting force is insufficient, insert another spring.

Now how to hang an angle grinder, you need to make a hole in the handle from the profile. First we try on the angle grinder to the installation site.

We screw the angle grinder. There is a threaded hole in almost all angle grinders where the handle is screwed.

That's all - the cutting machine is ready. The design is very stable and reliable. Cuts great.

In this example, a small grinder is used.

The tool can be removed at any time and used as usual.
This stand will definitely come in handy. It will make your work easier when, say, you need to make a lot of vertical cuts.
A useful thing, minimal cost and time - the effect is obvious.
Also, upon completion, it would not be superfluous to make a downward movement limiter. Thank you for your attention!

I think over time the machine will improve itself and a gap will appear under the disk - just enough for the disk to pass through)

It is not good to fasten an angle grinder with one bolt. You also need to put a metal clamp on the handle of the grinder

The grinder needs to be turned horizontally, sparks fly towards the operator

Nothing like this! If the “Bulgarian” is of standard design, then the disk rotates clockwise, that is, towards itself. Here it is turned in the opposite direction: that is, the sparks will come from you! The most important thing is a VERY GOOD IDEA, and a very functional one at that! And then - You can make a slot, and it’s not a fact that the plate is made of metal (wood will also work), and you don’t have to cook it with corners. In short, everyone can “collective farm” for themselves. The idea is quite workable, HUGE RESPECT to the author, and my personal respect!!!

Everything is great, but the author did not say how to solve the issue of pressing and locking the start button?

A standard circular angle grinder rotates counterclockwise. You need to turn the angle grinder horizontally so that the spark does not fly towards the operator!!!

There is no limiter against lateral movement. But this can be eliminated. In general, it is original.

I made a machine for an angle grinder using this video. Halfway through I realized that the idea was a demo, and the grinder was spinning on the holes. Very dangerous! Don't do this!

    Improvements:

    1- turn the grinder over!
2- weld 2 plates with nuts in the area of the handles for fixation.
3- cut a slot with a disk and install the stop at 90°.
    4- add a stop at 45°.
