Soap is rarely used completely. When there is a small piece left, people prefer to buy a new block. After all, soap is inconvenient to use. But it’s a shame to throw it away, so several old pieces may accumulate at home. From such crumbs it is quite possible to make a full-fledged bar of new soap.

What to make soap from?

Homemade soap making is a useful hobby. Usually you have to buy soap base in specialized stores, but this recipe is based only on remnants and your own imagination. Required ingredients are:
  • 1 glass filled with soap;
  • water;
  • 1 tablespoon of any vegetable oil;
  • flavorings as desired.

This recipe is based entirely on available tools, so you can use whatever you have around the house for flavoring. For example, orange or lemon zest will add the appropriate aroma, and oatmeal will make the bar look like a cosmetic product with a mild cleansing effect. You can also use food coloring, honey, essential oils and many other ingredients as you wish.

How to make soap?

Before you begin the active phase of soap making, you need to prepare the soap. Collecting 1 glass filled with remnants is not easy, it takes a lot of time. And the pieces begin to age and dry out. Therefore, initially it is worth filling them with water so that it covers the remnants. But not more. In this state, you need to leave the “soap base” for a day.

Over the course of a day in the liquid, the soap will become soft and partially dissolve in the water. The pan with this substance should be placed on low heat.

The mixture should be stirred constantly, because the soap may simply burn. Although this will not affect the ability to make soap, it is almost impossible to remove the burning smell. Keep the pan on the fire until the mixture boils.

You need to add fragrances after the soap pieces have turned into a homogeneous soap base. After boiling, remove the pan from the heat and add oil, as well as other ingredients as desired.

While the mixture is hot, stir everything until smooth.
Reference! It’s okay if not all pieces of soap dissolve completely in the soap mixture. Small clumps of soap will not affect the texture of the finished bar.
At the last stage, the soap mixture is poured into molds.

After a few hours at room temperature, the soap will harden. If there was no suitable shape, then you can cut an interesting shape from the finished block using an ordinary knife. And collect the remains to use for a new soap making cycle.
