It is inconvenient to heat small outbuildings: it makes no sense to install a full-scale system, and installing a standard heating device is ineffective. But you can make a very simple design with your own hands, with high efficiency.

Business justification for the project

For a comfortable stay in such buildings, it is enough to maintain a positive temperature, for example, chickens will lay eggs already at +10 degrees Celsius, and the car will be trouble-free if the temperature does not drop below zero.

The proposed heater project operates on two principles at once:
  • The structure itself heats up, and heat is transferred by radiation.
  • Forced airflow creates convective heat transfer.

A constant flow of air at a temperature of about +38 degrees Celsius minimizes the likelihood of dampness and mold. The volume of air blown depends on the cooler, on average it is 350-400 l/h
If a 60 W heater operates 20 hours a day, then in a month it will be consumed: 60 W x 20 hours x 30 days = 36 kW

Tools and equipment

To work you will need:
  • Two-core heating cable, total power 50-70 W.

  • Case cooler from the system unit.

  • Phone charger.
  • PET bottle.
  • Thermostat.

  • Metal pipe or heated towel rail.
  • Electrical tape, scissors, construction knife.

Explanation:
The cable length depends on the power 1 linear. m. If the power is 20 W, then 3 m of cable is enough, if the power is 15 W/lm, then buy 4 m.
The advantage of a heated towel rail is its compact size, with a long pipe length.

Making a heater

We evenly wrap the heating cable around the pipe. Maintain the same distance between turns.

We cut off the neck of the PET bottle, insert the cooler into it and carefully seal it with electrical tape.

We insert the neck of the bottle into the pipe and fix it. Place an extra loop of electrical tape around the cable.

We clean the contacts on the cable and on the cooler wires, and connect them to power. For convenience, they can be inserted into the corrugation.

We hang the heating module and thermostat on the wall.

We connect power through the thermostat and start heating.
Warm air will come out of the pipe in about 3-5 minutes, after the metal has warmed up.

How to increase efficiency

Take matte black paint and paint the outside of the pipe. Plug one end, pour 60-80 ml of silver inside, and paint the inside of the pipe in a reflective color.
Black bodies absorb radiation much better, while silver bodies radiate heat more efficiently. The increase in efficiency will not be an order of magnitude, but the increase in efficiency will be noticeable even “by eye”.

"Black bodies absorb radiation much better, while silver bodies radiate heat more efficiently." - there is an error in physics. As it absorbs, so it gives. Reflection is something else.

A conventional convector with a built-in thermostat solves the problem of heating any room, including a chicken coop. The author's solution is unreliable, ineffective, and fire hazardous in terms of makeshift installation.

this cable does not heat up above 60-70 degrees. even without a thermostat. so it is completely safe.

a kilowatt per day is enough to heat scallops for chickens, and not for everyone

Depending on what kind of winter you have - minus 30, I don’t think such a design will help

Explain to your grandfather the difference between a fan and a cooler, which will only cool the room...

And with blue electrical tape they are much more productive!!!

For the Stavropol and Krasnodar Territories it will work.

Difficult and ineffective. Blow it, don’t blow it, wind the cable on the pipe or hang it with snot. How much electricity was pulled from the outlet and transferred into the room. It’s easier to hang a 60W incandescent lamp; it still converts 99% of its energy into heat. But this is not enough for heating, and as you know, an attempt to deceive the Joule-Lenz law burns out along with the wiring.

This cable burns well. Think 100 times about safety.

This garbage can only heat itself... If you are too lazy to read and think about a school textbook on physics, then try raising the temperature in the barn by a couple of degrees sometime in the winter.. you will be surprised.. The craft is at the level of a “perpetual motion machine”..
