Before we get started, let’s prepare the following products in small quantities:
- - 1 chicken egg;
- - 5 tbsp. l. granulated sugar;
- - 1 pack of vanilla sugar
- - 1 glass of milk;
- - 1 glass of flour;
- - 3 tablespoons of starch;
- - a pinch of salt;
- - sunflower oil for frying.
In order to prepare the initial mass and fry the brushwood, we cannot do without: a deep bowl, a gas stove, a frying pan, a special mold with a handle, a whisk and fork, a tablespoon and a teaspoon.
The process of frying brushwood
Let's start preparing the initial mass - the batter. To do this, put one chicken egg, 5 tablespoons of sugar, starch and a pinch of salt into a glass bowl.
Whisk all these ingredients vigorously until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
Add a glass of milk, a glass and one tablespoon of sifted flour to the resulting mass and whisk everything again, adding another 1-2 tablespoons of flour if necessary to make a batter with the consistency of pancakes.
Turn on the burner of the gas stove and place a frying pan on it with a layer of sunflower oil already poured, about 25 mm from the bottom. We wait for the necessary time for the oil to warm up and lower the potato masher into it for at least 15 seconds so that it heats up.
Shake off excess oil from the tool and quickly lower it into the dough so that it does not reach the top edge of the mold 1-2 mm.
Also, without delay, transfer and lower the form with the dough into boiling oil and keep it there for a few seconds.
If everything was done correctly before, the dough itself will separate from the tool and begin to “exist independently,” that is, fry.
If this does not happen, you can pry it a little with a fork or wooden skewer. Fry the brushwood on both sides until golden brown, which happens quite quickly. We repeat the operation, not forgetting to stir the dough in the bowl with a whisk, and at the same time turn over the twigs and remove the finished ones.
When all the dough comes out, put the brushwood in a wide plate in a “slide” and pour in 4-5 teaspoons of thin honey and let it spread evenly over the entire area and thickness of the dish.
