Every day we have to deal with various technical difficulties, many of which can be solved by using ordinary PET bottles. This, firstly, allows you to refuse to buy special tools, parts or devices, and secondly, it is good for the environment, since the plastic used is not sent to a landfill.
Option 1: Telescopic fishing rod repair
When using an inexpensive telescopic fishing rod, you may encounter the fact that its plug falls off. As a result, the composite tubes fall out when the rod is folded. To solve the problem, just cut off the neck of the PET bottle. Then it is put on the bottom of the fishing rod and shrinked with a hair dryer or boiling water.
The neck will shrink and you will get a neat plug. If the standard rod cap is still intact, then the bottle can also serve as a box for storing spare hooks and leads.
Option 2: Drain hose with bulb
When you need to drain gasoline or other liquid through a hose, which is strictly prohibited from getting into the oral cavity, you can make a suction bulb out of a plastic bottle.
To do this, a hole with a slightly smaller diameter than the hose is drilled in its lid. The same hole is made in the bottom. Then the end of the tube is inserted into the cap.
After this, placing the free edge of the hose in the liquid, you need to lower the bulb below the level of the container, squeeze the bottle and press the hole in its bottom with your finger. Then the pear is released. Due to the impossibility of air access, it sucks liquid through the tube. Now if you remove your finger, the liquid will flow by gravity.
Option 3: Sink watering can
If you need to draw water into a bucket, but the size of the sink and the height of the mixer do not allow it to be placed, then you can get out of the situation by making a watering can. To do this, take a bottle and cut a large hole in the side of it.
A cut bottle without a lid is placed under the stream from the mixer and the water flows through it behind the sink into the substituted bucket. This method is much better than pulling a hose over the faucet, as it eliminates the risk of scratching and chafing the plumbing.
