The process of preparing mosquito repellent
Mosquitoes cannot stand the smell of cloves. In this regard, clove essential oil will be used as the active ingredient of the product. It can be bought at a pharmacy. It is inexpensive and is consumed slowly, so one bottle will be enough for several years.
Since the smell of cloves is very intense, the essential oil should be used little by little. Therefore, it should be diluted to reduce the concentration of aromatic substances. Any vegetable oil will do for this. You can use regular refined sunflower oil. This allows you to make the production of mosquito repellent simply cheap.Olive, sesame, etc. are also suitable.
For one serving of the product, use 5 ml of vegetable oil and 3-4 drops of essential oil.
The components are mixed and poured into containers that are convenient for storage and transportation. This could be a lip balm tin, a small glass bottle, or a spray bottle.
Simply rub a few drops of the product onto exposed skin. It should be applied to the arms, neck, and feet. It should be taken into account that since the base of the product is oil, it stains clothes. It is more suitable for summer residents, fishermen or those going on a picnic. It is better not to use the product with new clothes, or use pharmaceutical glycerin instead of vegetable oil when preparing it.
If you need to protect a child under 3 years old from mosquitoes, the product must be applied not directly to the skin, but to clothing. A couple of drops are enough on the collar, cuffs, or simply tie a cloth bandage and soak it in oil. Since cloves have a distinct, persistent odor, the product is of little use for repelling mosquitoes from open windows. It is more applicable outdoors. Indoors, this smell will intensify and can become unpleasant not only to mosquitoes, but also to others if they do not like cloves.
