The process of making a tourist frying pan
Having decided on the size of the frying pan, you need to draw its contours on a sheet of stainless steel. In the example, a sheet of 370x460 mm is used. It should have a round shape and 2 handles with eyelets that fit the width of your palm.
Next, on a flat area, you need to dig a small, shallow, round hole in the ground.
Its diameter should be slightly smaller than the size of the frying pan. Next, a sheet with a drawing is applied to the recess and a small wooden block is placed on top of it. Then, by hitting the block with a hammer, you need to make a small concavity on the workpiece.
After this, you can cut the frying pan along the contour.
It will still have an irregular shape, so it needs to be corrected. To do this, the workpiece can be bent in a circle using pliers or a hand clamp.
You can periodically place it on a level base and fill it with water to check how level it is.
After bending, dents remain on the surface of the pan; they can be lightly sanded with a grinder with a flap wheel. Particular attention should be paid to the chamfers so that the pan does not have sharp edges.
You can wrap twine around the handles of the pan. It would also be better to make wooden pads, but they can catch things when carried in a backpack, so this option is not suitable for everyone. Next, the pan is washed and can be used for its intended purpose.
At first, the food on it will burn a little. To minimize this, it is necessary to lay out food only after the greased frying pan is very hot, and turn them over in a timely manner. Over time, a slight soot will appear on it, and the food will stop sticking.
You just need to not polish it until it shines after each use, but just wash it well, and then after a couple of uses you can even cook pancakes in a camp frying pan.
