The lack of a soldering iron for soldering polypropylene pipes is not a problem, since a regular gas burner can be used instead. Of course, the reliability of such a connection will not be sufficient for a high-pressure water supply system, but it will be enough for assembling various structures from pipes or drip irrigation.

What you will need:

  • gas-burner;
  • ruler;
  • pencil.

The process of soldering polypropylene with a torch

It is necessary to put a mark on the pipe to which it is heated for soldering into the fitting. For a diameter of 20 mm you need to step back from the edge 14 mm, for 25 mm - 16 mm, for 32 mm - 20 mm.

The fitting is first heated by the burner. The flame is directed inward and along the walls. Heating continues until the polypropylene begins to melt.

Immediately after this, you need to heat the edge of the pipe to the mark. It is convenient to rotate the tube so that the entire surface is heated evenly. As soon as the plastic floats, it is inserted into the fitting and held for 5-10 seconds until it hardens.

Let's check the reliability of this connection.
