Lard in brine is a nutritious, tasty snack, especially if prepared correctly. If you want to make it soft so that it literally melts in your mouth, then definitely use this recipe.

Ingredients

Ingredients for brine per 1 kg of lard:
  • water – 1 l;
  • salt – 4 tbsp;
  • Bay leaf;
  • allspice;
  • black peppercorns;
  • garlic.

Lard preparation process

The skin on the lard is cleaned, it is washed and dried with a paper towel. Then it needs to be cut into large pieces.

1 liter of water is taken into the pan and 4 tbsp is added. with a heap of salt.

You can determine whether the brine is salty enough by dropping a raw chicken egg into it. If there is not enough salt, it will sink.

The brine is brought to a boil. Bay leaf, black and allspice are added to it. The brine should boil for 3-4 minutes, after which it should be cooled.

While the brine is cooling, you need to cut several heads of garlic into slices.

Then garlic and lard are laid out in layers in a deep bowl. A bay leaf is removed from the frozen brine and placed between the pieces.

Next, the lard is completely filled with brine and pressed down with a plate with a weight so that it does not float up.In this state, it is left at room temperature for 2-3 days. After this, the lard in the brine is placed in the refrigerator for another 3 days.

The soaked lard is removed from the brine, dried and served. Any excess should be frozen in bags to prevent them from spoiling. After defrosting, the pieces will be just as soft and flavorful.
