A broken hair dryer contains many useful parts that can be useful for various homemade projects. This is primarily a heating coil and a motor. If you come across a broken hair dryer, try making a burner, a plastic bending machine, or a mini vacuum cleaner from its spare parts. To do this, simply disassemble it.

Wood burner

On each side of a wooden ice cream stick you need to glue half a connecting block for wires.

Then a hole is cut in a piece of plastic tube for the switch. A connector for the power supply with soldered wires is glued into its end. Inside the tube, one of them is connected to a switch.

The edges of the wires need to be clamped in the block, and the stick should be glued into the tube.

After this, a double-bent nichrome wire from a hair dryer coil is clamped in it.

The power supply is connected to the burner. When you press the button, the spiral heats up and can be used for wood burning.

Plastic bending machine

It is necessary to prepare 3 pieces of board, plywood, chipboard or MDF. One should be long, and the other 2 together should be 1 cm shorter than it. In the center of the larger part, 2 screws are screwed at the edges, but not completely.

A piece of hair dryer coil is stretched between the screws. Then short ones are attached to the sides of the long workpiece.

Wires soldered to the connector are brought to the edges of the spiral. When the latter is connected to the power supply, the wire will heat up.

If you place a plastic part on the machine, it will warm up and soften along the line above the spiral. It can be easily bent along it.

Mini vacuum cleaner

A mesh fabric or piece of tulle is stretched over the diffuser of the hair dryer fan.

It should be secured with a ring made of a plastic tube of suitable diameter, or simply tied with thread. In this case, a 50 mm pipe was ideal.

Next, you need to plug the 50 mm pipe socket by gluing a sheet plastic insert. Holes are cut in the plug for the power supply connector and switch, which are glued into them after laying the wires. A ventilation hole is also cut and covered with a mesh.

A socket is pulled onto the fan diffuser. On the other side, an adapter is installed on a 1/2-inch pipe. A piece of tube is inserted into it.

When the power supply is connected, the vacuum cleaner begins to draw air inside along with debris.

The latter lingers on the grid and remains inside. This mini vacuum cleaner allows you to collect large debris. To shake it out, just pull off the adapter.

I don’t understand what does the hairdryer have to do with it? For the first homemade products, just a piece of nichrome wire from an electric stove, which can be sold for pennies in any hardware store, will do. And the last one - well, if there were only large debris... Fine dust will quickly clog everything possible, get into the bearings and the whole thing will be covered with a copper basin...

And at our dacha, my grandmother uses an old hairdryer to heat the stove in 2 minutes. The air flow creates draft even if the stove is completely cold and it’s raining outside.

You can also make a mini fan out of it.

But in no case can this fan be plugged into a power outlet - in hair dryers, the motor is always low-voltage, and the main part of the mains voltage sits on the heating coil.
