If it is necessary to weld pipes at an angle, the end of one of them must be rounded inward, which is not at all easy. There are many templates that allow you to make markings and then cut using them. The proposed device makes it possible to immediately prepare the perfect end in one step.
Materials:
car shock absorber strut;
internal combustion engine piston;
thick sheet metal;

channel 8P;
bolts, nuts, washers.
Fixture manufacturing process
From thick sheet metal you need to cut 2 plates measuring 65x250 mm. They should be sanded and the corners rounded.
Next, you need to disassemble the shock absorber strut to remove its rod.
An old piston is selected to match its diameter. It is necessary that the rod fits tightly into the hole for the piston pin.
At the end of the rod, a thread is cut for a metal crown. Its second edge needs to be ground down to a diameter of 10 mm. This is necessary to clamp the rod in the drill chuck.
On previously laid plates, one side needs to be rounded. Next, they are drilled from this edge with equal indentations. This is necessary to connect them with a common axis of rotation.
In the bottom of the piston, along the line dividing it in half, 2 8 mm holes are drilled with an indentation of 40 mm.
Their centers are transferred to one of the plates to make 2 longitudinal grooves on it.
Next you need to prepare a section of channel 100 mm long. It is installed on a whole plate. A part with grooves is placed on top of it, and then a piston. This is necessary to accurately mark the center of the rod on the channel.
Using the mark you made, you need to cut triangles on the channel shelves. This will allow the pipes to be centered when cutting.
A strip comb is welded to a plate without grooves to clamp it in a vice. The channel should be welded on the reverse side. You will also need to make a bracket from two bolts and a jumper to screw the piston to the plate with grooves.
Next, the plates are twisted together with a bolt. Then the piston is screwed on, the rod is inserted, the crown is screwed onto it, and the tool is clamped in a vice.
Before use, you need to adjust the desired angle between the plates. Then the pipe is applied to the channel and pressed with a clamp. After this, it is drilled with a crown. It is important that the diameter of the latter is equal to the pipe.
The result of joining pipes is perfect at any angle.
