Pilaf is a universal dish that we prepare regularly. I cooked pilaf in a cauldron, in a saucepan, in a saucepan, in a slow cooker. Although it is most correct, of course, to do it in a cauldron. Each of the cooking methods listed above has its pros and cons. But recently I came across a very unconventional way of preparing pilaf - in a baking bag. Of course, I immediately tried this recipe. And you know, it's great. I really liked the method! The pilaf comes out very tasty, crumbly, rich, and not dry. They say about this kind of pilaf – grain of rice for grain of rice. In addition, in this case we end up with a minimal amount of dirty dishes. There is no need to wash a greasy cauldron. The finished pilaf is carefully transferred from the bag to the saucepan, and the bag itself is thrown away. In general, you can leave it in the bag! By the way, if you really want to save time on cooking, you don’t have to pre-fry it. Everything will be perfectly baked in the bag. I call this pilaf “Lazy”. I highly recommend this recipe!

Ingredients for lazy pilaf:

  • Steamed long-grain rice - 1.5 cups.
  • Pork (ham) – 500 gr.
  • Onions – 2 pcs.
  • Carrots – 2 pcs.
  • Garlic – 3 cloves and 1 head.
  • Water – 2 glasses.
  • Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp.
  • Seasoning for pilaf – 1 tsp.
  • Salt - to taste.
  • Garlic pepper – 1 pinch.

Steps for preparing lazy pilaf in a baking bag:

To prepare pilaf, I take a simple baking bag with a retainer. Pour vegetable oil into a convenient frying pan. I'm warming it up. I put in the pork ham, cutting it into arbitrary pieces. Fry until slightly golden brown (about 2-3 minutes) over high heat.

I pour the rice into a baking bag, after rinsing it in water.

I throw the fried pieces of meat into a baking bag on top of the rice.

In a frying pan in the same oil, fry grated carrots and chopped onions (a couple of minutes).

I transfer the fried vegetables into a bag. I add all the prepared spices.

I pour water into the bag. I place a whole head of garlic on top in the center (after washing it).

I twist the baking bag and secure it with a fastener.

I place the baking bag on a baking sheet. I cook in the oven. I set the temperature to 200 degrees. I bake the “lazy” pilaf for 35 minutes. The pilaf will be ready when all the water has been absorbed by the rice.

That's all! “Lazy” pilaf in a baking bag is ready! I put it on plates and treat everyone. Bon appetit!
