Even a very good projector will not be able to project a perfectly high-quality image simply onto a wall if it is only painted or covered with light-colored wallpaper. It definitely needs a screen. Buying it ready-made is a considerable expense, so in order to save money, you can make the screen yourself and fit it beautifully into the interior of the room.

Materials:

  • Rail 15x40 mm or 25x50 mm;
  • self-tapping screws;
  • wood glue;
  • reflective fabric for projectors on AliExpress with a discount - http://alii.pub/60ijs0

Projector screen manufacturing process

Before making the screen, you must install a projector and project the image on the wall. Using it, you can determine the size of the future screen and its location with an accuracy of a few millimeters. Markers should be placed at the corners of the image.

Based on the marks made, you need to make a screen frame from the slats. In this case, a 100-inch screen is made with sides 120x220 cm. For rigidity, you will need to make several jumpers on the frame.You can connect the slats in any convenient way. The cheapest way to do this is with glue and an oblique screw, if you have such a jig. You can also use metal mounting brackets.

In order for the screen to produce a very high-quality contrast image, it is necessary to stretch not a white sheet over the frame, but a special reflective fabric, which can be ordered relatively inexpensively on Aliexpress - http://alii.pub/60ijs0

It is smoothed out of wrinkles with an iron, since it will not be possible to straighten them by stretching.

The fabric is stapled onto the frame. It is tucked in and the staples are driven into the back of the slats.

The screen can be glued to the wall using liquid nails.

As a last resort, you can screw it on with self-tapping screws. You can decorate the screen in the interior with decorative gypsum tiles glued around the perimeter. It will hide the side view. This way the screen will become part of the interior and will not stand out unfavorably.
