Many types of welding work are best done using TIG welding. But this is too expensive equipment for an amateur who can usually only afford an inverter. If you have one, it can be easily converted to TIG if necessary.

Required materials:

  • Tungsten electrode;
  • argon cylinder with reducer and hose;
  • thin copper tubes;
  • sheet steel 1-2 mm.

The process of converting an inverter to TIG welding

And the sheet steel needs to be cut and the bracket bent as in the example, and screwed to the welding holder.

A copper or brass collet tube is clamped in it, onto which the hose from the cylinder is placed. A thin copper tube is clamped into the holder. A tungsten electrode is inserted into it. The collets must be adjusted so that the gas comes out at the tip of the electrode.

Next, we connect the mass from the inverter to the workpiece and open the gas.

The electrode will now melt the metal and filler rod.

It turns out the same TIG welding, but for almost nothing, minus the price of the cylinder and tungsten electrode.
