The modern market offers a wide variety of devices for wall-mounting a flat-screen TV. Their installation requires a lot of time and effort, and they are not cheap. Let's make a super simple but reliable wall mount for a “window to the world” from two wooden blocks. Moreover, any adult can cope with this work.

Will need

Materials:
  • wooden beam;
  • screws and washers;
  • plastic inserts.
Tools: circular saw with an inclined disk, measuring accessories, drilling machine, hand screwdriver, hammer drill, plane, building level, etc.

The process of making a TV wall mount from wooden blocks

We saw a wooden beam 40 cm long into halves. The larger the diagonal of the TV, the longer we make the mount.

We tilt the circular disk at 45 degrees and work at this angle along one edge on the long sides of two bars. To add strength, we dull the sharp edges of the resulting edges with a plane.

We measure the horizontal center-to-center distance of the mounting holes on the back wall of the TV, which is 100 mm (it may be different).

Using a crossbar, we draw a longitudinal center line along one side of the bars, mark the middle and set aside 50 mm from it in each direction. Using a Forstner drill, we make two blind holes in each block and drill through holes of a smaller diameter in their center.

We screw one of the bars using screws and washers to the mounting threaded holes in the back wall of the TV so that the 45-degree edge is directed inward (toward the TV).

We fasten the ends of the second bar with screws along the washer, which, rising above the edges at 45 degrees, will serve as limiters for the longitudinal movement of the bar mounted on the TV.

We choose a place to hang the TV, draw a horizontal line using a building level, attach a block with limit washers to it and mark places on the wall for drilling holes for plastic inserts.

We fasten the block with limit washers with screws in a horizontal position so that the 45-degree edge is also directed inward (toward the wall).

We lift the TV and from above place the edge of the block attached to its back wall into the edge of the block attached to the wall.

The fastening turned out to be invisible, durable and reliable, despite its simplicity and minimal costs.
