Sockets falling out of the wall are a fairly common occurrence, especially in those rooms where there has been no major renovation since ancient times with the replacement of Soviet steel socket boxes.

The proposed repair method is good in that it does not require “uprooting” the old socket box, nor will any other repair work with cement mortar be required. It will take no more than half an hour to secure the socket.

How to secure a falling out socket tightly with your own hands

So, first of all, turn off the power to the outlet that needs to be repaired. Be sure to check the absence of voltage after disconnecting with a multimeter or an indicator screwdriver. Never rush into this matter and do not neglect safety precautions.

Now you can unscrew and remove the panel.

Next, unscrew the socket holders on the sides.

Then the wire terminals. If the outlet itself is in good working order and does not cause any trouble, it can be left without replacement. All that remains is to completely unscrew the holders, since they will no longer be needed.

To secure it, you will need to purchase any plastic socket box.

It needs to be cut approximately in half with a utility knife so that it can easily fit into the old socket box.

Align and secure with several screws on the sides. You can pre-drill holes if self-tapping screws cannot do this.

Almost everything is ready. All that remains is to connect the wires to the socket in the reverse order and install it in place.

Next, secure it to the metal frame with screws. If the grounding contacts interfere, they must be bent temporarily.

Install the front panel and check.

A socket secured in this way will definitely not go anywhere else.
