This master class will present the process of creating a phone case. The case will be made in the shape of a fox. Due to the bright color of this animal, to create this item you will need:
- fabric with a dense texture of orange, brick-red or red (30x40 cm);
- white flannel or chintz fabric (20x15 cm);
- 3 black buttons;
- black, white and orange/red threads;
- sewing needle.
First you need to take measurements of your phone. The phone model for which the example of the case given in the master class was sewn has parameters of 10x4.5x1 cm. Next, on a piece of paper or newspaper, draw an outline for the base of the case - the future “body” of the fox. In addition, we draw the contours of the ears.
Then the drawn outlines need to be cut out, applied to the fabric and traced with a fabric pencil or a sharp piece of soap. The outlined patterns are also cut out.You should end up with one piece of the fox's "body", one piece for the chest, two pieces of ear pieces made of red fabric and two pieces of white fabric.
First you need to make the fox ears. To do this, you need to take one ear pattern from white fabric and one from red fabric. They need to be sewn on both sides with an overlock stitch, retreating from the edge about five millimeters. Then carefully turn the stitched piece right side out and straighten the seams.
Next, the ears are sewn to the future case into specially cut connectors for them.
After this, you need to fold the base of the future cover from the wrong side. Stepping back about a centimeter from the edge, sew along the edges with a blanket stitch. The sewn cover must be turned right side out and the fabric should also be carefully straightened at the seams. Next step: sewing white fabric in the form of a bib onto the cover.
Now we begin to outline the details of the case and its decorations. First, you need to lightly outline the lines of the nose on the fox's face with a fabric pencil or a sharp bar of soap and mark the places where the button eyes will be sewn. Then along these lines you need to sew with black thread in two folds. Sew buttons where the eyes are.
At the tip of the muzzle (in the place where the nose is) of the fox, you need to make a longitudinal cut equal in length to the diameter of the nose button. Along the edge it needs to be carefully sewn with red thread.
Now the finishing touch: we apply the fox’s muzzle to the body and mark the place where the fox’s nose button will be sewn. We sew the button not to the tip of the muzzle, but to the chest! That's it, the fox case is ready.
