You can make an extremely simple and highly sensitive hidden wiring detector yourself, without knowledge of electronics and circuit design, using a common microcircuit. The device essentially has only 3 parts and several jumpers. It does not require configuration and starts working immediately after connecting the power.

Details:

Making a hidden wiring detector

The CD4017 chip is a decimal counter with a decoder. Its main advantage is that it has a high-resistance input, sensitive to any pulses of electromagnetic radiation created when current passes through the network.

We straighten the pins of the microcircuit for ease of soldering. We tin the terminals with tin and solder.

The pinout of the microcircuit looks like this:

We solder a resistor to pin 11.

Solder to pin 8 Light-emitting diode cathode, and the anode to the resistor.

We make a jumper from copper wire and solder it between pins 13 and 15.

We turn the device over and make a jumper between 13 and 8 contacts.

It's time to make a search antenna. We wind the copper wire onto a screwdriver 15-20 turns and remove it.

Solder the antenna to pin 14 of the microcircuit.

All that remains is to solder the power supply, where pin 8 is negative and pin 16 is positive.

The hidden wiring detector is ready for use.

Can be connected to a 9V battery.

At a short distance from the network, Light-emitting diode the detector is not lit.

But it is worth reducing the distance, as Light-emitting diode will start flashing. And the shorter the distance to the wiring and live parts, the faster it will blink Light-emitting diode.

An elementary detector made from a minimum number of parts does its job perfectly. Next, you can make a housing for the detector with a power switch. The antenna can be placed inside, without output.
