In some places on the floor there may be poorly glued tiles that bulge. If you don't re-glue it in time, it will crack over time. The problem is that even if it curls, it is still very difficult to tear it off. But there is a method that allows you to dismantle the tiles without damaging them.
What you will need:
- Tile scraper;
- gas-burner;
- rubber mallet;
- hard spatula.
The process of dismantling tiles
First of all, we determine the tiles that will be rolled.
Then, using a scraper on the tiles, we clean the seams around them from the fugue and glue. As a result, there should be nothing holding the tile on the sides.
Next, take a gas burner and heat the problematic tile evenly over the entire area. As a result of heating, it will begin to expand, but since its linear expansion is different from the tile adhesive, it should move away.
While the tile is hot, carefully tap it with a rubber mallet. As a result, the glue will finally come off. Now all that remains is to pry off the tiles with a wide spatula. In some places it will still hold on a little, so you can gently tap the spatula with a mallet.
After dismantling, the soot on the glaze of the tile can be easily wiped off.
Then you need to clean off the remaining glue on its back side, and on the base itself. Only after this do we apply fresh glue evenly under the comb trowel and lay the tiles again.
