Many people use a garden hose for watering, washing cars and solving other tasks in the garden. In this case, you have to connect to the water supply using a tap, which often becomes loose over time, and in winter it can even freeze and burst. It is much more convenient to mount a quick-release wall hydrant with frost protection instead. It looks neater, and its fastening is much more reliable.
Materials:
- quick-release wall hydrant “Aquor Hydrant V2” or equivalent;
- quick release adapter for hydrant.
Installation process of wall-mounted quick-release hydrant
This type of quick-release hydrant is installed on a wall, so you need to make a hole of a suitable shape in it.
It is better to mark it according to a previously cut paper template.
The hydrant is inserted into the hole and, depending on the wall material, secured with screws or dowels.
On the reverse side there is a connection to the water supply.
All that remains is to install the quick-release adapter on the garden hose.
Now it is enough to insert it into the hydrant and turn it so that the shut-off valve opens the flow of water.
By turning in the opposite direction, the adapter is removed. As a result, we get a quick-release connection that does not stick out from the wall, and also looks very neat.
Instead of an adapter, you can install a faucet.
What is the main feature of such a connection point besides convenience?
When the adapter is connected to the hydrant socket, the remote tap is opened along the stem. And when the adapter is disconnected, the tap inside the hydrant closes. Excess water is drained through the bottom hole in the outlet. That is, with the arrival of frost, the water inside the hydrant will not freeze. The water supply will not freeze either, since it is located at a distance from the wall and its pipe is thermally insulated.
