Nowadays, smartphones are becoming outdated very quickly. Despite the full functionality, most people simply have working models lying around at home, which, due to the updating trend, are no longer used.

Throwing away a completely working, but unnecessary thing - “you can’t raise your hand.” So what to do? Here's an interesting idea for using an old phone.

You will need:

Do-it-yourself mini projector from a smartphone

Carefully remove the bulb from the lamp using a sharp utility knife.

Now you need to make a reflector. We cut out 4 wedges from cardboard to the size of the phone screen. We cover them with foil and cut off the excess.

We glue a funnel from wedges.

Glue the Fresnel line. Before this, it must be cut to size.

We make a base from waste materials.

We install a reflector with a lens and a lamp. Fix with glue.

We find an old smartphone and check its functionality before disassembling it.

To remove the glass from your phone, you need to preheat it.This can be done using an iron or a household hair dryer.

Remove the backlight and reflector from the screen.

We install the screen to the Fresnel lens. Fix with hot glue.

We screw the wall to the side and attach the smartphone board to it. We connect the cable.

Cut out a circle in a sheet of cardboard and glue in a lens.

Install on the base. We empirically find the distance from the lens to the screen, taking into account the projection distance on the wall.

We connect a computer mouse through the adapter. The Android system easily detects it.

We connect active speakers to the headphone output.

The projector is ready. Miniature cinema in action.

The projection is displayed on the wall. If you use a white screen, the image will be much better.

It’s an interesting craft, but it’s even working. However, the final version of the product would need to be packaged into a case, but the cardboard remained anyway. And so it’s fine, it’s good. 8 half-poles out of 10.
