Typically, penoplex panels for insulating the walls of a house from the outside are attached using hardware, spending a lot of time, labor and money on this. It turns out that the process of insulating walls can be significantly simplified without loss of quality if you use only construction foam.
The process of attaching penoplex to foam block walls
To do this, we prepare the insulation panels according to the size, apply glue-foam to the inner side and the connecting nodes of the penoplex and wait about three minutes for the glue to mature. During this time, we prepare the next panel for installation.
We glue the first panel along the mark so that it does not protrude, but is flush with the panel adjacent to the corner, inserting it into the grooves of the foam already attached to the wall.
After making sure that the insulation has taken its place, we tap it along the edges and in the direction of the wall.
After making sure that there are no gaps between the panels, we transfer homemade mushrooms or clamps from the bottom panel to the top. We fill the holes left by the fungi with foam. We glue the second and subsequent panels to the wall in the same way.
After completion of adequate insulation of all walls, work will be carried out on plastering the facade and pouring the blind area. But before this, you need to make sure that the insulation is securely and firmly attached with one glue without the use of fungi or dowels.
To do this, we will conduct an experiment by gluing a piece of penoplex to the wall with the same mounting foam using the technology of insulating the walls of a house. We wait 3 minutes, glue the penoplex to the wall and press it with homemade mushrooms.
After at least one day, we will try to move or tear off a piece of penoplex, since the insulation on the wall of the house will be affected by the weight of the plaster and the force of the wind, as well as minor forces associated with temperature expansion.
We unscrew the clamping mushrooms or umbrellas and load the penoplex with a vertical shear load. We make sure that the material can withstand the weight of an adult weighing 90 kg. It is clear that the impact from plaster in nature is much less.
When an experimental piece of foam concrete is exposed to a pry bar, individual fragments are torn off along with part of the joint adhesive and even the foam concrete block itself. That is, no hurricane will be able to tear the insulation from the wall in kind.
