This cute little box is not difficult to make. Thanks to its unusual shape and original design, the box will be a wonderful interior decoration. You can store any small jewelry in it: rings, earrings, chains.

Box with a teddy bear

For production we will need the following materials:
1. Wooden box blank.
2. Primer.
3. Decoupage napkin. For this master class, a napkin with a bear cub was chosen.
4. PVA glue, scissors, pencil, sponge, brushes, screwdriver.
5. Acrylic paints.
6. Lace.
7. 3D Pitch.
8. Acrylic varnish.

Now you can start decorating.
First stage. To make the box easy to decorate, it needs to be disassembled. Therefore, we arm ourselves with a screwdriver and unscrew all the metal fastening elements so that the box breaks into two parts, and nothing bothers us.
However, before performing any design actions on the box, it needs to be primed. This needs to be done so that the paint adheres better to the surface and the box lasts longer. So, take a brush and, dipping it into the soil, coat the entire surface of the workpiece, outside and inside. Let the primer dry.

Since the background of our napkin is white, it is better to paint the entire lid of the box with white acrylic paint so that the wood does not show through and does not spoil the napkin. After the paint has dried, we begin cutting out the napkin.

Second phase. We choose a suitable pictorial motif, turn the napkin over, place the lid of the box on it and trace the outline with a pencil. Then we cut it out, apply it to the lid and adjust it if required.

Now you need to layer the napkin, getting rid of two extra layers, and leaving only the top thin layer with the picture. And you can start applying the napkin to the lid.
To ensure that the napkin lies flat, you can use regular tap water. Pour water into a glass, take a brush, apply a napkin to the lid and drip a little water into the center. We begin to carefully wet the entire napkin, moving from the center. If in some place it lies unevenly, lift the napkin by the dry edge and lower it again, smoothing it with a wet brush. So we reach the edges of the napkin and also “glue” them with water. This method helps to avoid air bubbles and wrinkles when applying glue to the napkin.

glue a napkin

There is no need to wait for the napkin to dry. Because then it will just fall off. Therefore, we take PVA glue, dip a brush in it and coat a wet napkin with glue. This must be done very carefully so as not to tear the napkin.

Now you can wait for it to dry.
Third stage. Let's start painting the sides of the box. We spread pink acrylic paint to match the hearts on a napkin and paint the side of the lid and the entire bottom part.

After the paint has dried, you can start making lace. Measure out a strip of lace of suitable length and cut it off. Now let's make the lace more elegant and unusual. To do this, take silver paint and a sponge.Place the lace on a sheet of paper or newspaper, dip the sponge in silver paint and apply it to the lace, carefully painting it over.
Again, wait for the paint to dry, turn the lace over and coat the inside with PVA glue. Now you can glue it to the bottom of our box.

Fourth stage. While the lace is drying, let's work on the inside of the box. It was decided to paint it with silver paint. But in order for the silver paint to adhere better and the wood not to show through, you must first paint the inside with acrylic gray paint. When the paint dries, you can apply the second layer - now silver.

Fifth stage. To give the box a finished look, take the sponge again, dip it in silver paint and “smack” the side parts of the box in the corners.
At this stage, the box can be reassembled, but it is better to do this at the very end, when the varnish has dried.
We take the 3D patch and apply it from the tube to the teddy bear and the cloud. First we trace the picture along the outline, then inside until the images are completely filled with potassium. Externally, potch is a little reminiscent of PVA glue, but after drying it becomes transparent and gives the image volume. By the way, it dries in about four hours, depending on the size of the image. You can simply leave the box overnight.

Sixth stage. After the box has completely dried, coat it with acrylic varnish inside and out in two layers. The interval between layers is approximately half an hour. And the box dries completely within 24 hours.
