Why sew toys with your own hands if you can buy them? Indeed, but not everyone can afford to delight their child with new fun too often; in addition, it is not known what materials the new purchase will be made of, in case it is hazardous to health. And a thing made with your own hands is always more valuable and close to the heart, exclusive, you can be sure of its environmental friendliness, and if you involve your child in the process, then the pleasure from handicraft will be twice as great.

month soft toy

Such a moon can be sewn in an hour or two at most, you don’t need a lot of materials to make it, the process is not particularly complicated or painstaking. This is wonderful decor for a children's room or a pleasant friend with whom it will be much more interesting for the child to sleep.

material for toys

To work you will need:
1. Fabric of yellow and blue colors (in our case, the sides of the moon are different colors, so the material is yellow and orange);
2. Blue ribbon for decoration, red ribbon for mouth, cord or ribbon for hanging;
3. Threads: white for sewing parts, black for embroidering eyes and red for the mouth;
4. Paper and pen for drawing patterns;
5. Scissors, needle, button.

Draw a figure of the month on paper or newspaper.It is best to draw an even circle with a diameter of approximately 22-25 cm, and then turn it into this profile of the moon.

cut out the template

Cut out the drawing, apply it to the fabric and trace two identical parts along the contour - the left and right sides.

When you start cutting, take into account the margin for seams - 0.5 - 1 cm.

Fold the two sides of the pattern and sew with the most common interfacing stitch.

sew the month

Do not finish sewing a little to leave an opening for stuffing. Turn the part inside out and fill it tightly with padding polyester.

Sew up the hole. Approximately on the top of the next month’s head, you need to sew a ribbon or cord on which the toy will be suspended, secure it with a button so that it holds well.

Using neat stitches, embroider the moon's eyes on both sides.

Something is missing? You need a cap, draw the pattern on a newspaper. To do this, bend it just above the nose and attach the previous one, which was done for a month, to guess the size, draw a long tip.

Transfer the resulting drawing to the fabric prepared for the hat.

You also need two parts - left and right. Cut them with an indentation, connect them with the same seam, do not forget to bend and hem the edge. Turn out the finished product, using a pencil or pen for the thin tip.

cap cap

You should end up with a cap with a long, curled tip.

Place the hat on the moon, carefully stretching the sewn cord for hanging in the desired place between the seam stitches.

lanyard for hanging

Take a regular blue ribbon.

You can additionally make and hang cardboard stars in your room, decorating them with a thick layer of cosmetic glitter set on PVA glue. Or sew them from the same yellow fabric as the moon. Such a cosmic ensemble will be a truly fabulous decoration for your baby’s first room.
