In my master class today, I will present an option for decorating a Christmas cake. The idea was proposed by the customer, as a result of which they decided to make a biblical scene of the birth of Jesus. That is, at the heart of the composition I had a man, a woman and a baby in a manger. The customer added a Christmas star and a couple of angels.
So, let's start with sculpting a woman. First, we will make a cone from white mastic, and make a cape from blue mastic. For the cape, roll out the mastic and cut out a circle from it, so that its radius is slightly larger than the height of the cone made. From the resulting circle we cut out a segment, which we apply as a cape.

Next, we make the hands. We make small sausages from blue mastic, one edge of which is made flared using a stack with a round edge. We cut out the fingers on the arms, form palms and glue them into the sleeves.

Now let's make the head. Using your fingers, highlight the areas under the eyes and lips, thereby defining the nose.

In place of the eyes we will paste pieces of white mastic, and using stacks or a toothpick we will form lips and a nose.

Using a thin brush and food coloring, draw in the eyes, lips, and eyebrows. And then we glue the hair. There is no need to cover your entire head, just a bang, the rest will be covered with a scarf.

For the scarf, roll out the white mastic into a rectangle and simply cover your head with it.

Using this scheme, we make a figurine of a man, only we choose a different color of clothing. I made it mustard green. Let's try to draw the face more like a man's (I didn't succeed very well).

Next, we look at the stages of sculpting a baby. We roll a small piece of white mastic into an oval, to which we glue small hands.

Let's make a small face, glue a few hairs and start making a crib (nursery).

For the crib we will make a rectangle with a recess. We glue straw into the recess, which we do in the same way as hair, using a special tool, although I make do with an ordinary garlic press (new, of course). I also made a small swaddle with fringe.

Now the angels. They are made according to the same principle as the previous figures. First we make a cone, which we cover with blue mastic. Roll out the circle and cover the cone, cutting off the excess. It turns out to be such a flared dress.

We do the sleeves and arms in the same way.

The customer asked that the angels have crosses in their hands.

On the head we make a halo of golden beads.

All that remains is to make a Christmas star. Roll out the yellow mastic into a thick enough layer so that you can then insert a toothpick. And cut out the star, I did this using a template drawn on paper.

Insert a toothpick and leave to dry. We will also prepare a small square into which we will then insert a star.

Before putting the star in place, you need to let the parts dry.
The complete composition ends with a congratulatory inscription.

You are simply a magician. I never thought that you could do such miracles with mastic. Thank you for the master class, now my homemade cakes will contain not only fruits and berries. Thanks again!
