A small picture-panel with an elegant outline of a little ballerina can serve as a decoration for a girl’s children’s room, or any other room where there is free space on the wall. So, if inspiration strikes you and you want to freshen up the interior with something, then get down to business.
The panel turns out to be voluminous; you can make it together with your children, if you put in some effort and act carefully.
For work, prepare:
- a sheet of thick decorative paper (card paper, craft paper, quilling base, a piece of beautiful wallpaper, even colored cardboard are suitable);
- black thick paper, lace, gauze, chiffon fabric or organza, in our case, ribbon for decorative gift decoration with a structured edge, and you can sort through the put aside scraps, ribbons or unnecessary scarves;
- small decorative elements such as miniature bows, rhinestones, sequins or beads.
To begin, select the outline of the young ballerina. You can download it from the Internet, take it from a suitable photo or picture, or, if you have the skills of an artist, draw it yourself.
Next, transfer the outline onto a sheet of black paper and cut it out with thin-bladed scissors.A manicure tool is perfect for manipulation.
After this, we begin working with the orgaza ribbon (or the fabric or lace that you prepared). We will use fabric to cut a ballerina outfit.
We collect one wire edge into a small fold, straighten the second. The result is a voluminous, transparent, airy skirt for a ballerina.
From another piece of ribbon we cut out the top part of the outfit. To avoid mistakes, first cut out a stencil of the upper part from cardboard. We outline this part of the ballerina template and transfer it to a piece of thick paper or cardboard. Then, we apply the outline to the fabric and cut out the upper part of the dress.
Small pieces of fabric that remain in the scraps can also be used to decorate a ballerina’s hairstyle, or fold them into small flowers or bows.
We place all the elements of the panel on the base sheet and determine their final position. We heat up the hot glue gun and attach the individual parts sequentially.
Please note that such a thin material as organza requires delicate work with glue. It is necessary to apply it in a thin layer along the very edge so that it does not bleed through. Hot-melt adhesive will successfully replace Titan glue; it must also be applied in doses and clearly along the edges. If there is more glue than needed, it will seep through the fabric and ruin the whole job.
We decorate the panel with additional elements that you have prepared.
All that remains is to place the panel picture in a frame and provide the opportunity to hang it on the wall. A small nuance: if your frame is not very large, then select a smaller ballerina template so that her legs fit into the panel and do not disappear behind the frame, as happened in our case.
