How to quickly and easily clean a shower head yourself

Sooner or later, depending on the quality (hardness) of the water in the water supply system, the shower head of a bathtub or shower stall may become clogged. Water begins to flow outward through some holes, while through others it stops flowing altogether or only drips. Opening the taps to full power doesn't help either. The inconveniences of taking a shower in such conditions are quite obvious.

The problem can be aggravated by the design of the shower head, which does not allow it to be disassembled and removed for cleaning. Do you really have to spend a lot of money on buying a new shower set, consisting, in addition to a watering can, also of a hose?
But don’t rush and run to the store for a new purchase. There are many ways, below we will look at one of them, how to clean a shower head without removing it from the hose.
To do this, prepare a small volume of clean water, pour a little baking soda into a plastic bag with a zipper and fill it with the prepared clean water.


Lightly shake the contents of the bag and see a violent reaction of baking soda with water, releasing significant heat. We put the bag with its contents on the shower head and close the clasp as much as possible.


In order for the contents of the bag to begin to interact with the deposits inside the shower head, we wrap the bag with several rubber rings and leave everything alone for a while.
Then remove the bag with its contents from the shower head and clean the outside of the shower head openings with a stiff toothbrush over the entire surface several times.

Next, clean each hole with toothpicks, replacing them as necessary.

Now all that remains is to turn on the water at full power for a while so that it, escaping from the holes under high pressure, removes the small particles, suspension and suspension remaining in the shower head.

Having completely completed the internal cleaning of the shower head, you can make sure that water flows out of the holes of the shower head over the entire surface and with the same pressure. Then, as before cleaning, it did not flow out of all the holes; from others it only dripped or splashed to the side.

Clarification

Using baking soda to clean your shower head will only be beneficial if the deposits inside the shower head are determined to be acidic.
If the stains are predominantly alkaline in nature, that is, they are simply calcareous, then the baking soda must be replaced with an acid-type cleaner, for example, table vinegar.
