Let's imagine a case: you are about to start your car. Turn the ignition key and the starter makes a couple of sluggish turns. After which you realize that you definitely won’t start the car now. The reasons may be different: the car has been sitting idle for a long time, there has been frost, etc.
When I restart, as often happens: I click the relay, the lights blink, but the starter doesn’t even turn on.
The battery is very discharged. There is a way out - ask for a “light” and use another car to start the engine, but there is not a single soul nearby.

A cordless screwdriver will help you out!
We remove the battery from it (12 V, 18 V is also possible, but with some modifications, which are discussed below).
To connect to the contacts, we place a short screw on each and tie it tightly with electrical tape.
Then we connect the wires. First, be sure to go to the screwdriver battery. It is marked with the polarity of its inclusion.
And then to the car battery. Be sure to check several times that the polarity is not reversed.
We wait 5-15 minutes and then try to start the engine.
In this example, it was enough to wait 8 minutes for the car to start.
Advice
- Typically, screwdrivers are equipped with two batteries.If you have both charged, then connect one first for 15 minutes, and then the second. This will give your battery more charge to start.
- If you have an 18 V screwdriver, then its battery must be turned on through a powerful 50-150 W halogen lamp. It will act as a quenching resistor.
