Materials:
- camera valve;
- plastic bottle with a wide neck with a volume of 0.5-1 liter;
- blow gun;
- tire inflation gun.
Sandblasting production
The homemade product will be based on a blow gun and a pneumatic gun for inflating tires, which are supplied with any compressor. In this case, only the long tube of the blow gun will have to be damaged. This part is sold separately and costs about $1, so losing it won't be a problem. You need to remove the pressure gauge and flexible hose from the tire inflation gun. Instead of the latter, a tube from a blow gun is screwed in. The flexible hose is moved to the outlet of the pressure gauge.
A neck is drilled in a plastic bottle below the cap and a hole is made in the bottom into which a valve is inserted.
To tighten it properly, you should apply a little hot melt glue before screwing on the clamping nut. It will serve as a gasket and give the bottom the necessary rigidity.
Next, using a round file, you need to cut an exit window in the purge tube. It is then passed through the holes in the neck of the bottle. Due to the fact that they are smaller in diameter, the tube fits in without gaps and the joint is sealed. It is necessary that the cut is inside the bottle and directed towards its bottom.
Sand is poured into the bottle through the neck and it is closed. Then the hose from the compressor is connected to the gun.
When you press the air supply lever, it will come out through the purge tube and the bottle simultaneously. Under pressure, the sand will begin to be squeezed into the tube, from where it will be picked up by the main flow and will fly out at high speed. By directing a stream of sand at various surfaces, you can remove rust, paint, patina or plaque from them.
In the future, when the need arises to use a tire inflation gun, you just need to rearrange the flexible tube on it and return the pressure gauge to its place. Thus, nothing except the nozzle of the blow gun will be damaged and can be used for its main purpose.
