Will need
To get started you should prepare:
- PVC pipe with a diameter of 12 mm;
- a roll of polyethylene film or spunbond;
- 6 pieces of reinforcement 10×600 mm;
- PVC fittings 12 mm;
- arcs made of 12 mm REX water pipes (cross-linked polyethylene);
- film clips;
- weights (preferably sand in bags).
All you need is a hammer and a construction tape. To cut fittings you need a grinder, to bend polyethylene pipes into an arc - a gas torch.
Greenhouse installation procedure
We measure the length and width of the greenhouse to determine the number of required pieces of reinforcement, arcs and longitudinal pipes. When calculating the length of a pipe section for making arcs, we take into account the height of the greenhouse.
We start driving the reinforcement to a given depth from one of the inner corners of the greenhouse fencing and control its elevation above the top of the board using a tape measure.
We go around the perimeter of the greenhouse, hammering in pieces of reinforcement at the designated points, and always in the corners, until we come to the “peg” driven in first.
On the ends of the reinforcement bars that rise above the ground and are located in the same transverse plane, we put the ends of the pipe arches almost to the ground, but at first only on one side.
We put fittings on the free ends of the arcs: triangular - on the outer ones, cruciform - on the intermediate ones. After this, we put the second ends on the corresponding segments of the reinforcement.
The greenhouse frame will be ready after we secure the longitudinal pipes in the fittings located at the highest points of the arcs. To do this, we move the fittings slightly in the longitudinal direction and then return them back. Due to the elastic forces of the plastic material, the frame turned out to be quite rigid.
We unwind the plastic film, throw it over the outer arc, leaving a “tail” at the edge, and attach it to the arc using clamps. We do the same with the intermediate arcs until we reach the opposite end. We also leave a supply of film behind the outer arc and cut the sheet from the roll.
Fastening the film with clamps on the outer arcs is mandatory, on intermediate ones - as necessary. And to prevent the wind from tearing the film off the frame, we press the supply of polyethylene sheet around the perimeter of the greenhouse to the ground using weights, for example, bags of sand.
Instead of unreliable polyethylene film, it is better to use breathable, non-wetting and durable spunbond. But it is much more expensive than polyethylene, which can always be replaced.
