After repairs, there are a lot of plastic buckets left from water-soluble paints, ready-made putties and other finishing materials. Usually all this packaging goes safely into the trash container, but if you approach the issue of recycling it wisely, you can do a lot of useful things for your home.
Lampshade for lamp or chandelier
A small bucket with a volume of 2-4 liters can be used to make a lampshade. To do this, you need to cut off its embossed rim and paint the remaining part.
In order for the paint to adhere better, the surface must be sanded with fine-grained sandpaper until matte.
Then primer for plastic is applied to it, and after it dries, regular paint.
You can paint either with a brush or from a spray can.
For better light diffusion when painting the inside of the bucket, it is best to use light colors of paint. Be sure to cover the previously painted surface with paper or masking tape before doing this.
A hole is made in the bottom of the bucket in the center. A two-core wire is inserted into it, and a socket with a light bulb is installed. Then the homemade product can be hung as a chandelier or lamp.
A bucket for storing something
A bucket of suitable size can be used, say, to store garbage. A small one can be placed in the bathroom to dump cotton pads, ear sticks, used cosmetic bottles, etc. A large bucket can be used as the main one for household waste. To make it look neat and appropriate, it needs to be decorated.
First you need to make a handle for the lid. To do this, use hot glue to glue the lid from the jar and bottle onto it.
Then the white plastic of the bucket should be painted or decorated with stickers.
As the latter, cut-outs from colored self-adhesive film can be used for furniture. Mugs or various figures are cut out of it and glued onto the bucket.

The result will be a basket. To decorate it, you can use a strip of lace. It is glued to the basket from the outside using hot glue.
You can first pass twine through the holes on the lace.
In this case, it can be tied with a bow at the junction of the ends of the strip, which will hide the seam. A homemade basket can be used to store yarn, fruit, or used as a tray.
