Parts for soldering must be cleaned with a metal brush. It will remove dirt, oxide, and also create the roughness necessary for sticking solder. The parts are joined together and, if possible, fixed in a vice or pressed.
Then a gas burner torch is directed at their junction. It is necessary to heat the contact surfaces to a temperature of 400 degrees Celsius. After this, the fire is shifted slightly to the side and a rod is applied to the joint. If the desired temperature is reached, it spreads instantly. You need to quickly move it along the joint.
It is better not to heat the solder itself directly. It is optimal to heat the surfaces that are being soldered, so the soldering will be stronger. When the seam has already been laid, but turns out to be sloppy, you can slightly heat it directly and iron it with the remains of the rod.It will simply distribute the solder with virtually no spreading.
The solder sticks to the aluminum very well and holds up almost like welding. The parts soldered by it can only be torn off by fracture, and only if the seam is short.
