You can make a 220V alternating current generator for undemanding household appliances with your own hands. To do this, you will need a couple of transformers from microwave ovens, and a few more available spare parts. Any two-stroke internal combustion engine can be used as a drive for it, for example, from a brush cutter or chainsaw.

Materials:

  • Microwave transformers – 2 pcs.;
  • electric motor anchor;
  • neodymium magnets from the motor wheel of an electric bicycle;
  • epoxy resin;
  • bearings for the armature shaft – 2 pcs.;
  • steel strip 2x20 mm;
  • wires;
  • socket.

The process of making a generator from microwave ovens

For two serviceable microwave transformers, you need to cut the cores along the seam and remove the plates. The incandescent and step-up windings are removed from them.

The primary is removed for a while, only to dismantle them, then returns to the core.

Next, you need to remove the armature from any compact electric motor.

4 pairs of neodymium magnets from the motor-wheel of an electric bicycle are attached to it. They are placed with alternating polarity.

Next, you need to build a formwork for the anchor and fill it with epoxy resin to secure the magnets.

After hardening, the rotor must be balanced by turning it on a lathe or, at a minimum, by clamping it in a drill chuck.

The prepared transformers are welded together using one of the previously cut plates. The distance between them should be sufficient to accommodate the modified anchor.

Now you need to weld the anchor strip fastening onto the cores. Bearings can also be welded onto it. The armature needs to rotate freely.

The contact on the transformers must be connected in series with a jumper. Then wires with a socket at the end are soldered to the remaining two.

When rotated with a screwdriver, 220 V lamps, acting as a load, glow well.

All that remains is to install a pulley on the armature shaft and connect the gasoline engine to the generator using a drive belt.
