When repairing and servicing a car, it often becomes necessary to jack it up. The reliability of the latter leaves much to be desired, so to be on the safe side, before crawling under the car, you usually place blocks. By making such a support stand, you can lower the weight of the car onto it, and not use bulky heavy stands.

What you will need:

  • 1.1 1/4 inch pipes;
  • profile pipes 60x30 mm, 80x40 mm;
  • rod 10 mm;
  • round timber 40 mm;
  • strip 30x3 mm.

The process of making a support stand for a jack

From a 60x30 mm profile pipe, it is necessary to cut a workpiece 80 cm long. From a 80x40 mm pipe, a 40 cm piece is required. The large workpiece is put on the smaller one, aligned in the center and welded. To compensate for the difference in diameter, spacers from strip scraps can be placed in the voids.

Next, you need to cut 2 pieces of pipe with a diameter of 1 inch 16 cm long, and 1 1/4 inches long 15 cm. The thin ones are inserted into the thick ones, then the blanks are drilled with a 10 mm drill 50 mm from the edge. For convenience, you can temporarily drip welding onto the edges of the pipes so that the parts do not move during drilling.

The resulting telescopic racks must be welded with the previously made crossbar. Also for them, 2 stoppers are bent from a 10 mm rod.

From below, a support for the jack from a piece of 40 mm round timber is welded into the center of the crossbar. The soles from the strip are welded to the bottom of the posts. For stability, it is better to make them longer. Above the posts at the corners of the crossbar, washers from round timber are welded onto which rubber pads will be placed.

The resulting attachment is placed under the car. Then a jack is rolled under it and lifting is performed. After this, all that remains is to insert the stoppers into the telescopic stands.

Now the car will definitely not lower, but you can pick up the jack.
