For quick, precise assembly of frames, special clamps are used. They allow you to compress parts sawn at 45 degrees at a strictly right angle. It’s very rare to find such a clamp in a regular hardware or hardware store, so it’s easier to make it yourself.

Materials:

  • Profile pipe;
  • nuts M10 – 4 pcs.;
  • extended nuts M10 – 4 pcs.;
  • M10 washers – 8 pcs.;
  • M10 studs – 4 pcs.

Clamp manufacturing process

To make a clamp, you need to weld 4 squares from a profile pipe with a side length of approximately 50-70 mm.

The blanks for welding are cut from one edge at an angle of 45 degrees.

Next you need to weld M10 nuts to the four washers.

The resulting parts are welded into the angles with the nuts inward. On the other hand, the ends of the pipes need to be plugged by welding regular washers.

Welding seams are cleaned.

Now you need to drill the squares exactly opposite the centers of the welded washers without nuts. It is important not to mix up the side, since the other hole is not required.

Finally, we assemble the clamp.Pins are inserted into the last drilled holes and removed from the other side of the squares. Their ends are screwed into the welded nut of the next square. Extended nuts are attached to the studs.

By tightening the extended nuts, you can now compress the clamp. This device will allow you to knock together or glue wooden frames, and it is also convenient for clamping metal workpieces for precise welding.
