The doors of a cabinet or cabinet can be closed not only using a purchased lock, but also homemade locks with a secret. Their advantage is that they do not have a key in the usual sense, which can be lost. But at the same time, it will not be possible to open such a lock without knowing the secret. Let's consider one of these designs, simulating a safe lock.

Lock making process
From furniture board or plywood you need to drill several disks using crowns that will imitate the wheels of a safe.
Blind holes are milled under them in the door of the cabinet or cabinet on the inside at the top with an indentation of 20 mm from the edge. The discs must fit flush in them, and a small gap on the sides is required.
In the center, milled holes and disks are drilled for dowels. The last ones are glued in and the discs. They will be used as the axis of rotation. On the back side of the door, milling is done a couple of millimeters deep.The same discs are put on the dowels and glued.
You need to drill the door from the top edge exactly opposite the recessed discs. First, we drill so as to go deep into the disk almost to the dowel. Then we take out the drill and turn the wheel a quarter turn. Now we drill it through the existing hole in the door. But this time the depth should be 2 times less. We make one or a couple of such small holes.
Visible marks are placed on the protruding wheels. Red in front of a shallow hole, and black in a deep one.
Now you need to make notes on the top wall furniture opposite the holes in the edge of the door. The upper wall is drilled along them. It is important not to drill through, the holes should be blind.
You need to cut pins from a thin steel tube to lock the door. Their length is made equal to the distance from the bottom of the deep hole in the wheels to the beginning of the edge of the door. In this case, they should fit when lifted with a magnet into the door and the hole in the walls of the case.
Now we make a key from the plank. We place it above the doors, mark it, and drill holes opposite with a pin. Then magnets are placed in them.
The plank is attached to the edge in the transverse direction of the furniture. To do this, use an axis in the corner of the cabinet so that when the rack is turned, the magnets stand above the pins. In this position they will unlock the wheels. On the contrary, for symmetry, the same bar is attached, but without magnets, and already at 2 points, since its displacement is not required.
Thus, if the pins fall into deep holes with black marks, then the doors are always open.
If you substitute the key bar, the pins will rise. After this, you need to turn the wheels to the red marks and remove the magnets.The pins will immediately lock the door. Without knowing about the bar with magnets and the way the wheels rotate, you won’t be able to open it.
