An ordinary gas torch can be used for soldering if you make a simple nozzle for it. In terms of heating efficiency, such a device can only be compared with a very powerful electric soldering iron. Thanks to this nozzle, you can solder even massive parts in conditions where there is no electricity.

What you will need:

  • A tube;
  • copper rod 8 mm;
  • bolt or steel rod corresponding to the inner diameter of the tube;
  • worm clamp.

Nozzle manufacturing process

The first step is to select a tube into which you can insert your burner without a gap. Marks are placed on it 3, 10 and 12 cm from the edge. Then a circle is drawn along them.

Between the 3 and 10 cm marks on the tube, perforation is made in a checkerboard pattern with an 8 mm drill.

After this, the tube is ground to remove burrs.

Next, we cut off the workpiece, retreating 3 cm beyond the 12 cm mark.

From this end it needs to be sawed along to the drawn circle.

Now we take a bolt or rod corresponding to the cross-section of the diameter of the tube.From it you need to make a sleeve 20-30 mm long, drilling along with an 8 mm drill.

A soldering iron tip is made from an 8 mm copper or brass rod.

Then the sleeve is inserted into the tube, and they are drilled on both sides.

The holes are threaded. Thus, now you can insert the tip into the bushing and tighten it with screws.

The finished nozzle is put on the burner and secured with a worm clamp. It will be easily crimped due to the cut.

All you have to do is light the burner and you can solder.
