Painting with a brush or roller seems simple at first glance. For everything to work out perfectly, you need to know a lot of tricks and tricks. This collection contains 7 practical painting tips.

1. Clear line on masking tape

To get a smooth transition when painting over the masking tape after it has come off, simply first apply the paint with your finger along the junction of the tape and the base.

Only after this can you proceed to painting.

This is especially important to do when the base is not completely smooth. If you immediately paint over the tape, the paint will definitely flow under it and the outline will turn out blurry.

2. Mixing the putty in a bag

If you close the finishing putty in a plastic bag, then by cutting off a corner of it, you can accurately apply it to existing defects.

This will make the job much easier, especially if you need to seal holes.

You won’t have to dirty the mixing utensils, overuse the material by smearing it with a spatula, and besides, the putty in the bag won’t harden longer.

3. Preparing the roller with tape

A roller with long naps cannot be used immediately. Otherwise, loose lint will stick to the paint. First wrap the tape around it and then rip it off.The news is that the weak pile will come off.

After this, the roller will paint cleanly.

4. Vaseline protection

If you have to brush directly onto surfaces that cannot be stained with paint, apply Vaseline to them.

In this case, paint materials will not be able to stick. Any paint that gets in will be easily wiped off from the Vaseline, even if it has time to dry.

5. Brush guard when painting ceilings

To prevent paint from dripping onto your hands and the floor when painting the ceiling, take a plastic lid and make a hole in it. Then place it on the brush handle. Now the paint will linger on the shield without dripping down.

6. Roller wringer

To press the coat of the roller away from the paint, you can bend a ring from a steel rod.

An unnecessary pen will do for this. We bend a ring out of it with a slightly larger diameter than the base of the spare tire. Then we pass a roller through it, thereby squeezing out the paint.

7. Fine painting with a large brush

If you only have a large brush, you can collect a small strand from its bristles and tie it. Thus, we get a small brush that can be used to do fine work. It is especially convenient when painting corners, as it allows you not to go into the adjacent surface.
